LICORICE SNAPS
What if …
The Boy Who Lived was unable to defeat the dark wizard, Lord Voldemort? What if the magical world's worst nightmare came true? What if everything we know and love of Harry Potter has gone awry ?[/blockquote]
Welcome to the nightmare of Licorice Snaps, where sad endings are bound to happen, where canon story lines are definitely a bit twisted. If you're wanting a Harry Potter role play that isn't typical, you've come to the right place.
Licorice Snaps is an alternate universe role play set in the year 2000 after the famous trio and others graduate from Hogwarts. However, things didn't necessarily end up happily for them – or for anyone else, for that matter. Let's cover a few of the basics, shall we? Just so we don't get confused.
- Harry lost in the battle between himself and Voldemort.
- Voldemort killed Harry Potter, and now he's gone – never to be heard of again, except through stories told to children, or in history books – if his name is allowed to be mentioned again.
- Voldemort has taken over the Ministry and has claimed himself as Minister of Magic.
- Death Eaters are the new police in the magical world. Anyone who does not support Voldemort is killed, or thrown into Azkaban and left to rot, whichever occurs first.
- Hogwarts is no longer the school it once was. As a matter of fact, it isn't really a school at all. It has become a safe haven for those that have rebelled against Voldemort and his Death Eaters. During the Last Battle, those that remained alive managed to take control of the castle and protect it with advanced charms and magic. Many attempts have been made to get into the castle, but so far the charms have protected it. Voldemort is focusing all of his attention on regaining control of the castle, and has Death Eaters surrounding it at all times. Everyone inside the castle knows it's only a matter of time before they find a way in, so they're preparing for a rebellion when that time comes.
- Most wizarding families have gone into hiding, and are trying to come up with a way to overthrow Voldemort and his regime of Death Eaters.
- Those that support Voldemort have quickly found the error in their choice – but it's too late to change their minds now.
- Random muggle deaths are reported, with no explanation as to the cause of deaths.
Seems quite dreadful, doesn't it? Well, to be honest, it is. However, there may be one small flicker of hope. Those that supported Dumbledore and Harry Potter during the last battle at Hogwarts a couple of years ago are trying to mount a rebellion. They're gathered at certain secret hiding places that are protected by charms and other methods of security to keep Death Eaters and Voldemort out. Life as they knew it is gone, and now they are attempting to reclaim the life they once had before Voldemort took control of the magical world. Will you join those that are rebelling against Voldemort? Or will you side with the one that has control over the entire magical community? It's time to decide where your loyalties lie – with darkness or with light.
